How To Screenshot on a Lenovo Laptop


Many people struggle with taking a screenshot on a Lenovo laptop especially if it’s one’s first time operating a laptop of the brand. You have been using a PC from other brands but recently got a Lenovo laptop. Taking a screenshot on a Lenovo laptop is not as hard as you might have imagined. 

Keep in mind that taking a screenshot on a Lenovo laptop differs, it is usually determined by the type of software running on the Lenovo Laptop. The ability of devices to make screenshots is no doubt one of the most useful features technology has bestowed upon humans. 

It saves one from a lot of stress and allows one to keep proof of things we see online. Many of us can’t go a day without taking screenshots on our PC. 

Screenshots have proven helpful in other ways, they come in handy when reporting an issue (a technical glitch or whatever the case)., it saves you from making many explanations. Its importance can never be overemphasized in the tech world. 

If you are using a Lenovo laptop, there are a couple of ways to take a screenshot. Some work only with Windows 10 while some work with any Windows version. 

I will walk you through all methods you can use to take a screenshot on your Lenovo PC.

How To Take a Screenshot on a Lenovo Windows 10 Laptop

One advantage of taking a screenshot with a Windows 10 laptop is that it automatically saves your screenshot to the screenshot folder. You can also edit the screenshot before saving it. To take a screenshot on a Lenovo Windows 10 laptop, follow these steps:

METHOD 1

STEP 1: Hit the Windows key, then click on PrtSc (Print Screen) key.

STEP 2: You will observe that the screen becomes dim after pressing the above combination

STEP 3: Go to the “Screenshots” folder under “Files” on your Lenovo laptop to view your screenshot. 

METHOD 2: 

STEP 1: Hit the Windows key and press the “W” key on your Lenovo laptop

STEP 2: After doing this, a sidebar menu pops on the right side of your Lenovo PC

STEP 3: Select “Screensketch” from the sidebar menu

You can make your edits if there are any, then click on save

How To screenshot on Lenovo Without Windows 10 

Taking a screenshot on a Lenovo PC without Windows 10 is a bit different. It would require more steps compared to taking screenshots on a Lenovo laptop with Windows 10. 

STEP 1: Hit the PrtSc (Print Screen) key, it will copy the image on your computer screen and save it to the clipboard. 

STEP 2: Open any editing tool like Microsoft Paint ten paste the screenshot in the editing tool.

STEP 3: Edit  the screenshot if need be

STEP 4: Press Ctrl+S to save the image.

How To Take a Screenshot on Thinkpad With Windows 11

There are a couple of ways you can take a screenshot on your Lenovo laptop running on Windows 11 using the Print Screen key. Pressing the Print Screen key on your Lenovo laptop would take a screenshot of your PCV screen. 

There are some other key combinations you can use to take a screenshot on your Lenovo laptop running on Windows 11. We shall briefly look at combinations that come in handy while taking screenshots on a Lenovo laptop with Windows 11. 

NOTE: On some Lenovo PCs, the function key (fn) must be pressed together with the Prtsc key to make a screenshot. 

  • Using The Print Screen Key Alone: On a Windows 11 laptop, Pressing the Prtsc key alone would copy your computer screen to the clipboard. You can then paste the screenshot directly to your destination. However, if you want to make some edits to the screenshot, you can use any image editing tool on your PC.
